Black Lives Reallly Matter

As all life matters, definitely Black Lives Matter.  In my home, they really matter.

This week marks the one year anniversary where a police officer shot and killed a child on playground in Cincinnati, Ohio, without any interaction or engagement with the child.  This week I had an update from a member of the family that nothing has been done by the authorities to fix this problem towards a just resolution.

Next week, the law enforcement officers of the District Attorney will make a decision whether to seek an indictment of the police officer from the Grand Jury.  I think the District Attorney should pursue the investigation with an intention to prosecute the, at a minimum, incompetence of this officer, let alone any criminal intention he may have had in serving out the ultimate price to Tamir Rice and his family for his playing with a toy gun at a playground.

We cannot have a real nation-state that allows its police officer to shoot unarmed children without any interaction with them in these kinds of situations.  This may not be tolerated, justified or excused by anyone in our government if we want to have a legitimate democratic republic.

Currently, we have a police state, authoritarian government very similar to that of the Nazis in the early 30s.  Just sayin' . . .
